Get the wand waving for you
In today's hip hop, long past casual, show everything world, Cotillion stands out as a classic, throwback event that evokes memories of a time long past. Fathers in tuxes, escorting their young daughters at a traditional coming out ball. All the attention may be on the girls, but the fathers are always just as excited, and so are the moms.
There's nothing quite like Cotillion, where memories last a lifetime, and so do the styles of the girl's dresses. And that's a good thing. That's what keep's the focus on the event, rather than on the particular stylings of an individual girl's dress.
At Cotillion, all the girls are dressed more or less the same. Always white. No beads, no crystals. No strapless gowns. Nothing remotely revealing. And each Cotillion usually has its own separate rules and regulations regarding what the girl's can wear.
It's the early 1900's conservative styles, and the fashion code is strictly enforced.
If you can find a dress off the rack that looks like it may be suitable for your Cotillion, chances are it will need lots of alterations to bring it within compliance with the fashion code. You cannot just show up with a white gown and expect to be let in. If you don't already know, you must have your dress approved before hand.
You can bring it in to Scylvia, "The Fairy Godmother of Fashion," and she'll make sure your dress will fit you perfectly and be in compliance.
But don't forget this crazy, long past casual, show everything world we live in. The odds are you can spend hours and hours looking for an off the rack dress, and never find the perfect one. That's where "The Fairy Godmother of Fashion" can come in with her magic wand, and with her custom alterations, make you look perfect in your off the rack Cotillion dress.
You may need to have something fixed like
- adding Cap Sleeves
- add a Bodice Overlay
- adjust the Straps, or add Straps, or
- add some Petticoat.
"The Fairy Godmother of Fashion" can also design and custom make a gorgeous gown for you, working from a picture — from a magazine, or a picture you found online, or a photo of your mom or your aunt at their Cotillion — or just your own idea. And it's almost always best to get a custom Cotillion dress than it is to buy one off the rack and have it altered.
